Miscellaneous #1 | Recent Favorites & More

Hello again, dear readers. I hope that this post finds you well enough and enjoying some sunshine. Spring seems to be teasing us here in New England and sadly we are once again heading into some cooler weather.

Anyway, now that I have completed my typical weather update ( I am still unsure why I always feel the need to begin my posts this way…), I am happy to be dropping by to share a few things that I have enjoyed recently and a bit of bookish news.

So…enjoy!

Songs I Have Had on Repeat

For All My Life – TAYA

[I literally cannot overstate how thrilled I am that she is finally releasing her own music!]

Brighter Days – Blessing Offor

LION – Elevation Worship

[We have listened to this album SO many times and especially this song.]

Recently Watched (and Enjoyed)

Cheaper by the Dozen | 2022 | PG

[I am so annoyed by the fact that this is a Cheaper by the Dozen remake, when it is SO much more like Yours, Mine and Ours, but…it was a slightly ridiculous and funny movie that we all enjoyed.]

The High Note | 2020 | PG-13

[We randomly stumbled across this one on HBOMax and ended up really enjoying it.]

The Gilded Age | 2022

[I absolutely loved this show (my sister and dad enjoyed it too), but I hesitate to recommend it due to a couple of scenes that we skipped.]

Introducing….Roseanna M. White’s Upcoming Novel: Shadowed Loyalty!

Sabina Mancari never questioned her life as the daughter of Chicago’s leading mob boss until bullets tear apart her world and the man she thought she loved turns out to be an undercover Prohibition agent. Ambushes, bribes, murder, prostitution—all her life, her father sheltered her from his crimes, but now she can no longer turn away from the truth. Maybe Lorenzo, the fiancé who barely paid her any attention in the last two years, has the right idea by planning to escape their world. But can she truly turn her back on her family?

All his life, Lorenzo’s family assumed he would become a priest, but he has different ideas—marrying Sabina and pursuing a career in the law. Despite his morals, he knows at the core he isn’t so unlike his mafiosi father and brothers. Has he, in trying to protect Sabina, forced her into the arms of the Prohibition agent bent on tearing her family apart? How can they rebuild what has so long been neglected and do it in the shadow of the dark empire of the Mafia?

Shadowed Loyalty, set amid the glitz and scandal of the Roaring Twenties, examines what love really means and how we draw lines between family and our own convictions, especially when following one could mean losing the other.

    1. You should watch it!! Although it has a very different feel – and I honestly liked it better – I truly think that everyone who loved DA will enjoy it. 🙂 (Also, when you do get a chance to watch it, I would love to hear what you think!)

  1. Ooh, girl! I have just found myself several new blogs!! Thanks for sharing all these!!

And, YES! I didn’t even have to watch the movie to know that the new Cheaper by the Dozen is just like Yours, Mine, and Ours! Glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed that!
