Black & White Photography – Part 1| feat. mini-february playlist

Hello again, dear readers. I hope this quick post finds you well and warm. We are currently in another stretch of chilly, cloudy weather after a handful of warmer and sunnier days, and its leading me to long for the semi-warmth of spring. I am enjoying these winter days though; time to read, cup after cup of hot cocoa, tea and coffee, and extended time with my family.

This morning I spent a few minutes taking pictures of random things, things around house, for the purpose of experimenting with black-and-white photography. I will admit to never having done this before, but I am surprised by how they turned out, definitely not perfect, but pleasing anyway.

And with that quick intro, I’ll leave you to glance through this playlist and black-and-white photography. Enjoy. 🙂

“I ask myself why
do I try to chase the wind?
I should lean into the mystery
Maybe hope is found in a melody”

Dear God (feat. Anna Asbury) – Cory Asbury

“Now this might be a mistake
That I’m calling you this late
But these dreams I have of you aren’t real enough”

Minefields – Faouzia & John Legend

“I’m not waiting for you to come back
For you to let me down like that
Grew harder, found laughter
Found peace in all the cracks
Disaster, I happened
I matter”

Heal Me – Grace Carter

“Don’t want to see you cry now
Don’t want to see your tears
Do you remember all the, all of the things we did?
All of the crazy memories when we were only kids?”

The Road – Faouzia

“Wish I could could tell ya
Who breaks your heart
Or the grass is greener when you don’t wanna a boy
See life, will bring you down
But your fire is blazing’ out”

Little Bird – Jasmine Cephas Jones

“You are not alone
I’ve been here the whole time singing you a song
I will carry you, I will carry youI know you can’t remember how to shine
Your heart’s a bird without the wings to fly”

Carry You (feat. Fleurie) – Ruelle

“Wish I had a time machine
So I could find some clarity
Give you all the best of me
‘Cause that’s what you deserve”

Take It Out On You – Ruelle

“Yeah, maybe you lost it all
And you’re holding on
Can’t see between the trees
But hey, you’re almost home
Remember you’re beautiful
As your teardrops fall
It doesn’t last forever”

Everyone Cries – Echosmith

“I will send out an army to find you
In the middle of the darkest night
It’s true, I will rescue you
I will never stop marching to reach you
In the middle of the hardest fight”

Rescue You – Lauren Daigle

Have you heard any of these songs before? What have you been listening to recently?

  1. Esmerelda, those photos are GORGEOUS! I’ve heard Rescue You (which is so beautiful), but otherwise I haven’t heard of the others. In fact, I just discovered Fauozia today, so I’ll have to listen to a few of her songs! I’m always listening to the oldies and Lifehouse (my favorite band ever)! Thanks for sharing your fantastic photography!

  2. Hi sweet Esmeralda, two things… 1st I loved reading this post, it was so so beautiful, and 2nd I just wanted to let you know I’ve nominated you for the Liebster Award. I think you write so nicely, I always love reading your posts! If you’re not a blog award/tag fan, no pressure to do it but I just wanted to let you know I’ve nominated you! Hope you’re having a great day!
