Hello again, dear readers. I hope that this post finds you all moderately well and enjoying a hot cup of tea or coffee. I am currently sitting at my desk, waiting for the water to boil for my next cup of hibiscus and elderberry tea. Today was a messy, snowy/rainy, warmish day where I live. It has been nice, and strange, to have some relatively warmish days lately. I have quite a bit of school to do this evening (and hopefully some fun reading), before I watch WandaVision (has anyone seen it yet? it looks rather strange) with some of my siblings while washing eggs. All in all, a normal Saturday evening for me.
As I have mentioned before, I have mixed feeling about tags/awards, but I wanted to something other than a book review (and honestly writing about current issues isn’t coming very easily at the moment, although I am going to be working on it as well as the first post of a mini-series) and I remembered these kind awards from my fellow bloggers. And here we are.
After a small amount of thought, I decided to combine my nominees for the two awards as well as simply re-gift the questions I was given. (Obviously what I am trying to say, is that I didn’t have much time and this is what I could pull off. 🙂
Without further rambling, enjoy.

The Liebster Award
Thank you to the wonderful Ryan Elizabeth @ Ryan Elizabeth Writes for nominating me for this award.
What’s your favorite season?
I could never answer this question. Each season has it’s own beauty. Spring is a time of new life (and mud) and nothing compares to watching everything wake up from their winter sleep, Summer’s sun and fresh food is incomparable, Fall is simply lovely with the changing and vibrant leaves, and Winter brings powerful winds and beautiful snow.
What’s one of your current favorite songs?
I haven’t been listening to much music lately (although I did cave and have been listening to “drivers license“, which although I like the song enough I simply do not understand what all the hype is about), but Taylor Swift’s “the lakes” has continued to be a favorite of mine.
If you could visit any fictional world, which one would it be?
Maybe, Bayern from Shannon Hale’s Books of Bayern. There is something beautiful and slightly mysterious about Bayern.
Do you journal?
Yes, I do. I have been journaling for years, on and off (and I still have all of my journals :). For the past year or so I have been journaling every single night, even if it is only a paragraph. I have really enjoyed making this an intentional part of my life.
Do you have a favorite word? If so, what is it?
I do not have any specific favorite word. I do love the word journey (which happens to one of my younger sisters’ middle names) and the words imagination and creation.
Who’s someone who inspires you?
Well, I can think of a few people, bu most importantly, my mom. The fact that she manages to both do the work that she loves and homeschool and raise a bunch of kids with my dad is really inspiring to me. I hope that one day I am able to do work that I love while raising a family.
If you could instantly be fluent in another language, what would it be?
What’s one movie you can’t stand?
Home Alone 2, I cannot stand this movie! My younger siblings love it, but it is so painful to watch. 🙂
What’s something about yourself that other people find surprising?
Hmmm, I can think of nothing. Maybe the fact that I am from a very large family. 🙂
How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging since August 2018 (I am pretty sure), first on Writings From A Farm Girl and now here on L&L.
What’s a question you wish I would’ve asked? (And answer the question).
How about, what is one of your favorite foods/snacks? I would have to say, corn chips and spicy salsa.
The Sunshine Blogger Award
Thank you to the lovely Allison @ Universe Within Pages for nominating me for this award.
If a genie granted you three wishes, what would you wish for? (Obviously, the genie has rules that prevent you from asking for more wishes. Sorry.)
Hmmm, well other the obvious practical things; I would wish for bookshelves full of books I love and want to read, lining my bedroom walls. My second wish would be to somehow live close to the ocean without moving, and my final wish would be to be able to see some friends that I haven’t gotten to see in a few years.
Which book do you think is way overhyped?.
I couldn’t say, I hardly ever seem to read books that are overly hyped by the bookish community.
If you had to give up watching movies or listening to music for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
No contest here, I would give up watching movies in a heartbeat over losing music.
What is one of your proudest achievements?
I can’t think of anything……..I guess you could say that I was pretty proud of myself for doing well on my history mid-term last week…….not exactly a good answer, but something. 🙂
How do you organize your bookshelf/bookshelves?
At the moment I have my books arranged loosely by time period, but it is honestly rather awkward and I therefore anticipate re-arranging them in the near future.
If you had the chance to redesign the covers for one book or series, what cover-change would you bless us with?
The Mark of the Lion trilogy by Francine Rivers. I absolutely love this trilogy, particularly A Voice in the Wind, but none of the covers match the stories’ loveliness.
